Tommaso Arscone was born in Genoa on 11 February 1980. In 1999 he obtained a diploma in scientific maturity at the Leonardo da Vinci high school in Genoa, and the same year he successfully passed the admission test at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Turin, but did not he enrolled, deciding to devote himself entirely to art.
Since 1996 he has started to paint completely different techniques, such as acrylic, oil by brush, oil with a spatula, airbrush, china, pastel, charcoal, pencil and on different materials: canvas, table, prepared paper, copper, slate, plaster , leather, aluminum, Plexiglas. Over the years his works have evolved in the continuous search for shades, shapes, lights, harmonies, optical illusions and colors in subjects such as bodies, female faces, old, hands, marked by wrinkles or perfectly smooth, or by color contrasts derived from lights . After a long journey of study and intense practice, in 2006 he entered the world of exhibitions taking part in some group exhibitions in Turin and Montecarlo. The following year he won the award for best young artist at the II Biennial Genoa Arte of the Satura gallery in Genoa. In 2008 he presented his first solo exhibition at Palazzo Stella. Other participations take part in group exhibitions and international events such as the American Art Festival “Genova meets Easton”. On this occasion he met the famous American sculptor Karl Stirner with whom he collaborated and thus began his first trips to America where he came into contact with the art of the famous neighborhoods of New York and exhibited in two collective shows in Chelsea in Manhattan. The most recent years are completely dedicated to the study and experimentation, which have led him over time to create works characterized by meticulous and careful preparation of surfaces, designed to achieve maximum three-dimensional yield. The figures painted on leather, through the exasperation of the lights and the chiaroscuro, seem to be carved in the canvas or suspended in the air. Those on canvas, with painted Plexiglas, seem to come out of the glass, water or milk .. In some works, the subjects painted on canvas are often distorted as in a lens, while the part on Plexiglas is blurred and blurred, creating a contrast between a more technical and a more instinctive painting. Even the hand-brushed aluminum by the artist is used as a natural background, making the subject stand out more. In 2013 he began working with the Galleria San Giorgio in Portofino and in September 2014 with Trade Art, the new contemporary art gallery in Milan, through which he also exhibited in Bahrain and Dubai. Always in his art research harmony and beauty, with strong contrasts of color, shades and lights, with the alternation of soft strokes, which leave almost imperceptible signs, and more intuitive and material strokes, where the uniqueness of the gesture prevails pictorial and freedom of movement of the hand, to give a strong visual impact and greater transport; certain cuts and positions leave free interpretation to the imagination of the beholder.
